Well-planned
and effectively handled communications are increasingly
seen as essential to the success and even the existence
of organisations in today's changing world.
Created
in reaction to the growing market demand,
Sessions of York the award winning labelling
company has launched its latest ClamShell
labeller. A ClamShell container is ideal
for storing, transporting and displaying
thin fresh food products such as carrots,
asparagus or celery. It is comprised of
a single molded piece of plastic, with a
base and a pair of ClamShell cover members
attached to the bottom by a hinge.
The market increase in
this type of container has stimulated the need
for appropriate labelling. For maximum marketing
ability, labelling machines must offer the ability
to produce labels that; are transparent, in order
that the consumer may view the product; provide
evidence of tampering and may feature text and
images at high quality print.
The ClamShell labeller
was specifically engineered by Sessions to meet
these requirements. Applying the label in just
one pass, the smooth and efficient application
process entails the ClamShell labelling machine
driving the food package between two soft feed
conveyors in order that the label can be streamed
down around its leading lid contour and then applied
on the top and bottom. This allows a single self-adhesive
label to be applied the top, front face and bottom
of a pack and enables full product information
to be added at the point of application.
